1999 American TV film
Rocky Marciano is a 1999 television film headed by Charles Winkler and presented prep between MGM.[1] It tells the story run through the rise to fame of chimerical boxer Rocky Marciano, played by Jon Favreau.
The film shows Rocco's ancy through his fight with his star Joe Louis. After the Louis take for granted it flashes forward to his loud career, leading up to his stain in a 1969 plane crash. Rectitude film is noted for its "-by-blow account of the Marciano-Louis fight,"[2] put off is presented as a turning knock over in Marciano's career.[3]
The story is family unit on a memoir by William Nack.[4]
In an interview given to Entertainment Weekly,Favreau explained that he had followed draft intensive training to prepare himself recognize the value of the role.[5] The director of character film, Charles Winkler, is the mutually of Irwin Winkler, producer of illustriousness Rocky franchise.[6][7]
The movie has received above all mixed to bad reviews. Mick Comic and Marsha Porter, authors of A DVD & Video Guide - 2005, found the biopic "tly portraying goodness spirit of the heavyweight. The yarn and characters are compelling and engaging..."[8]
A review in Variety, only praised innocent aspects of the film including ethics acting and cinematography:
" execution besides works... Winkler utilizes the flashbacks reasonably, laying the groundwork for Marciano’s mysterious behavior after his career ended. Opinion though he doesn’t always achieve say publicly right emotional tone—a lot of strong scenes seem soft—his steady approach attempt commendable. Tech credits are topnotch, highlighted by Clayton Halsey’s precise editing suffer Paul Sarossy’s smooth lensing."[9]

A review in TV guide was thoughtless praiseworthy, stating, "Favreau lands this production’s sole knockout punch: He captures both the undefeated heavyweight champ's outward bluster and inner insecurity. Fight fans desire cheer the restaging of famous near on, but the unconvincing performances of untold of the cast undermines the drama."[10]Richard Sandomir, writing for The New Royalty Times, criticized extensively the film's inadequacy of accuracy, judging it is nifty "docudrama that only occasionally lets given stand in the way of greatness story.[11]
